DART Newsletter
October 2026
Greetings DART Members,
Thank you all for your commitment, prayers, and willingness to serve in Jesus' Name!
“And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me'”
Please continue to pray for our teams that are deployed and for the beneficiaries we have the opportunity to meet and serve.

Venezuela
Samaritan's Purse continues responding to earthquake-affected communities across Venezuela through medical care, clean water, shelter, food assistance, and local church partnerships. The Emergency Field Hospital has cared for over 13,000 patients and performed more than 645 surgeries, while WASH teams have produced more than 2 million liters of potable water. The shelter program has completed its first transitional shelters and is expanding to provide temporary housing for additional displaced families. Through 13 church-operated soup kitchens, local partners are also serving approximately 6,300 meals to affected communities.
Our team visited the pastor of a church that was completely destroyed by the earthquake. His family is now living in a tent inside César Nieves Stadium. The pastor's wife shared that she felt deeply discouraged. Without the church building, she was unsure how to continue serving God, especially as she watched her congregation struggle with the pain and frustration of the tragedy. Our team provided them with emotional and spiritual support, and gave the pastor and his wife 72 Bibles to distribute in the stadium—a temporary shelter that they now see as a new mission field.
The pastor's wife is now leading the first women's Bible study in the stadium. Her renewed sense of purpose is a powerful reminder that spiritual care and Biblical resources can restore hope and reignite the Great Commission—even when the walls of a church have fallen.

Nepal
On Wednesday, Aug. 26, a major glacial collapse and subsequent avalanche near the Nepal–China border triggered catastrophic debris flow and a flash flood in north-central Nepal. The water level rose as much as 30 feet in approximately 30 minutes. More than 1,400 people were killed, and thousands more were displaced.
Samaritan's Purse stood up an IMT on Aug. 28 to respond to those affected by the humanitarian crisis. DART team members began arriving on Saturday, Aug. 29, to support 10 local church partners in meeting the needs of those affected by the disaster. We supplied these partners with hygiene kits, tarps, solar lights, blankets, and water filtration systems to distribute, bringing urgently needed relief to more than 3,300 families. Our work in Nepal is helping equip the local church to love their neighbor and strengthen its long-term Gospel witness.
One family we provided relief to lost nine family members in the flash floods: their daughter, two daughters-in-law, and six grandchildren who were swept away while at school. The flood also destroyed their home and their farmland, which sustained their livelihood. Our local church partner, Nepal Christian Relief Service (NCRS), was the first group to reach them and provide desperately needed hygiene kits and tarps. The beneficiary said, “We are very thankful to you for supporting us when we had lost almost everything.”
